Welcome to my skincare column.
Growing up, I was fascinated by all things beauty. Always awaiting the arrival of my Seventeen and Teen Vogue magazines in the mail, fueling my childhood dream of becoming a magazine editor.
While my appreciation for beauty started at a young age, I really found my niche after college when my self confidence started to plummet as I was dealing with cystic, hormonal acne. After seeing a dermatologist to get my acne under control, I began reading and absorbing everything I could about skincare ingredients, products, what works, what doesn’t, and everything in between out of genuine interest. Since then, I’ve been focused on learning what truly works for me and how to best care for my dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin that’s also prone to pigmentation. What began as curiosity slowly grew into years of fascination. As a journalism major with a passion for learning about the skincare industry, I decided to take all the thoughts and opinions living in my head and put them into something real.
